Fifth International Congress on Transport Research
The Hellenic
Institute of Transportation Engineers (H.I.T.E.) and the
Hellenic Institute
of Transport (H.I.T.) organize the «5th
International Congress on Transport Research» with major subject:
«Energy, environment and transport». The organization of this
Congress, with a central theme this year, aims to underline the
importance of these issues. This Congress is a well-established
"institution" in Greece, as it will celebrate in 2010 its 10 years
of existence. The Congress will take place in the city Volos in late September 2010,
in cooperation with the University of
Thessaly.
The thematic sessions of the Congress include:
- Transport policy
- System design
- System management and organization
- Transport safety
- Exploitation - monitoring - control
In view of this International Congress, the SEETAC team of the
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (ERDF-PP9) submitted a paper
in April 2010, under the title "Pan-European Corridor X
development: Case of literal implementation of the European
Transport Strategy itself or of change of the general environment
in the region?", where describes the conditions under which the
Corridor X has been developed, after 10 years of follow up and
monitoring of this Corridor, being the Technical Secretariat of the
Steering Committee of the Corridor.
In the paper, a reference to SEE Transport Axis Cooperation is
made, which aims towards the implementation of the revised EU
Policy, and specifically of the SEE Priority Axis. The content of
the SEETA Cooperation is briefly presented, as well as the
principles for projects and pilots prioritization and promotion
within the WP5 of the project.
This paper will be available for dissemination after its review
by the Scientific Committee of the Congress.
