General Assembly of the Association KORRIDOR X PLUS
The General Assembly of the Association KORRIDOR X PLUS took
place on June 15th 2011 in Belgrade. This association
consists of Railway Organizations of Austria, Slovenia, Croatia,
Serbia and Bulgaria and aims at providing improved railway services
along the Pan-European Corridor X. The provision of improved
services and the attraction of traffic is ensured through the
undertaken task of minimization of times required for border
crossings.
The association analyzed the traffic volumes of the past two
years and the required times for border controls as well as the
wasted time that can be avoided if some soft-measures were
implemented. Such measures could be:
- optimization of border procedures
- intensified use of IT-software-solutions
- technical and constructional modernization
- provision of locomotives in time
- signature of trust agreements
- improved approach when dealing with missing loading
tackles
- trans-national deployment of locomotives
- customs and border controls during train run
M. Miltiadou from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (also
a partner of the SEETAC Project) participated in the General
Assembly.
