SUGAR event “ Urban freight management: an exchange of good practices in the European context and Beyond”
In the framework of the SEETAC's Second Ministerial Conference,
to be held in Tirana on 16th November 2010, the CEI will organise a
dissemination event to present the activities of the SUGAR Project
(Sustainable Urban Goods logistics Achieved by Regional and local
policies). This project is co-financed by the European Regional
Development Fund and made possible by the INTERREG IVC programme.
The event is organised in cooperation with the Albanian Ministry of
Public Works and Transport under the guidance of the Emilia Romagna
Region (IT), Project's Lead Partner.
SUGAR aims at improving urban freight management by means of
exchange of best practices. (for more information www.sugarlogistics.eu). In
particular it focuses on addressing inefficient management of urban
freight distribution, which represents a critical component of the
overall urban transport system and a primary source of vehicle
pollutant emissions. The project promotes the exchange, discussion
and transfer of policy experience and good practices between Good
Practice and Transfer sites. SUGAR can represent a relevant input
for the Western Balkan countries and SEETAC partners in general and
for this reason the event will be organised back to back with the
SEETAC's Second Ministerial Conference.
This event aims at illustrating project achievements so far, and
describe possible transfer of identified best practices in the
countries of the partnership and beyond. The event is targeting
ministerial stakeholders, in order to disseminate the work carried
out within the project at the national level.
