SEETO’S 26TH Steering Committee in Zagreb, Croatia
South East Europe Transport Observatory- SEETO's 26th Steering
Committee Meeting took place in Zagreb, on 13th October 2010 under
the chairmanship of Ms. Katarina Čop Bajde, head of the Department
for Strategic Infrastructural Objects at the Croatian Ministry of
Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and Mr. Alain Baron, high
representative of the EU Commission. The meeting was organised by
the Croatian Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and
Infrastructure in cooperation with the SEETO secretariat.
SEETO's main aim is the cooperation promotion in the field of
main and secondary infrastructure within the core SEE Transport
network and the increase in local capacity for the implementation
of investment programmes, data collection and management and core
transport network analysis.
The discussions were focused on the development of a multiannual
action plan for the development of the core transport network from
2011 to 2014 and the priority projects suggested by each member
state. At the same time, the partners debated on the data updating
process for the transport infrastructure and SEETO action plan
development for the year 2010.
One of the topics concerned also the financing and budget for
the upcoming year. In the final part the participants expressed the
need for better coordination in the infrastructural transport data
exchange among the SEETO Member States.
The chairman announced that the sixth South East transport
ministers meeting will take place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, on 1sth December 2010.
