SUGAR PROJECT on Urban freight management : an exchange of good practices in the European context and beyond
In the framework of the SEETAC Second Ministerial Conference, to
be held in Tirana on 16 November 2010, the CEI will organise a
dissemination event to present the activities of SUGAR (Sustainable
Urban Goods logistics Achieved by Regional and local policies).
SUGAR is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and
made possible by the INTERREG IVC Programme.
It focuses on addressing inefficient management of urban freight
distribution, which represents a critical component of the overall
urban transport system and a primary source of vehicle pollutant
emissions. The project promotes the exchange, discussion and
transfer of policy experience and good practices between Good
Practice and Transfer sites. SUGAR can represent a relevant input
for the Western Balkan countries and SEETAC partners in general and
for this reason the event will be organised back to back with the
SEETAC Second Ministerial Conference.
The SUGAR event will bring together national stakeholders from
the partner countries and beyond. It will illustrate project
achievements so far, and explain the potential to transfer its best
practices beyond the partnership
Both events will be organised by the CEI and the Albanian
Ministry of Public Works and Transport, host of the SEETAC
Ministerial Conference.
