Closer to completion the Corridor 10 highway segment from Belgrade to Hungarian border
Works on the highway from Belgrade to Hungarian border are
progressively improving and should be completed by mid-2013. Some
parts of the northern section of Corridor 10 are already finished
in recent times or will be finished by September. The road
from Horgos to Bikovo, 28 km long, has been recently completed
while another 12 km section, not far from Backa Topola, will be
soon opened, as for the bridge across the Danube near Beska. The
construction of "Y Section" from Kelebija, on the Hungarian border,
to the Subotica South junction will have been finished by the end
of October. Thus the 125 km-long track of the motorway from
Horgos to Novi Sad will be completed.
In the meantime, works started in 2007 for the modernisation of
the Belgrade's largest bridge, Gazela, situated at the Southern
section of the 200-km-long Corridor 10 track from Belgrade to
Horgos, are continuing and should be completed by mid-February
2012. The bridge reconstruction (overall worth Euro 77 million) has
been made possible thanks to the EIB, EBRD and EAR financing
(respectively Euro 33, 25 and 6,7 million) integrating the Euro
12,3 million Serbian allotment made by Putevi Srbije and the
Belgrade Municipality.
